Build the First Mikvah

The foundation of a Jewish community begins with a mikvah.

Why This Matters

A mikvah is the most important element in a Jewish community, and many blessings for family health and happiness are promised to people who pay for its construction.

As the Ohr Chabad community takes root in the breathtaking Yatir Forest, the need for a local mikvah is immediate and urgent. Currently, the nearest mikvah requires a long drive through dark, winding forest roads — particularly challenging and unsafe for women in the evening hours.

“A city that has no mikvah must build one before it builds a synagogue.”

— Shulchan Aruch, Yoreh De'ah 266

Building a mikvah immediately will provide a safer, more accessible option for the families of Ohr Chabad. It will also serve as a spiritual anchor for the entire community — a place of renewal, purity, and connection.
